Well... My picture did not turn out as planned but I imagine that wherever this picture was taken it is very peaceful and scenic.  The clouds were reflecting the sunlight and made the clouds appear a salmon color.  I imagine that it would be very warm but there would not be any wind because it is kind of in the middle of no where.  And the scents would not be very strong because there are not many things to smell.  I wish I had picked a slightly easier painting to do but oh well.  This project was a lot of fun and I also really enjoyed cleaning the tables at the end....

Clay

This was one of my least favorite projects.  I think it was boring.  I really liked being creative with this project though.  I think that next time we work on a project like this, it would be helpful to have a topic.  I like working with clay.

Zentangles

I really enjoyed working on this project.  The two biggest problems with this project is that we didn't have any papers or references to look at.  The other problem is how hot it was.  I feel like we would have been able to work a lot more efficiently if it did not feel like 1000000 degrees outside.  If I were to do this project over again I would draw what I am making on the wall before actually putting it on there.  The most difficult part of this project was being creative enough

Perspective Photo

I feel like this was a very successful project.  In this picture, Chase appears to be holding me in the palm of his hand.  I think there needs to be more places to take perspective photos.  I would be more creative with this project if I could do it over again.  I would try and go on higher places.  The most difficult part of this project was finding areas to create the perspective pictures.  I really enjoyed this photo and we should do another one similar to it.

JAWS AKA PANCAKES

Midterm

I think this piece was my most successful because my stenciling for the most part was very exact.  Also, my color scheme ended up very well.  I really like my contrast between the blue, orange, white, and black.  Although, you can not see the black spraypaint yet.  Also, I had the most fun creating this project.  Cutting things out with sharp tools, spray painting, and creating your own wooden frame were all very fun aspects of this project.

I learned the most from this project because we learned to be creative with all sorts of objects.  Instead of limiting ourselves to just pencil and paper, we were given a projector and junk and we had to create something.  It was a lot harder said than done.  But I learned about contrasting sizes and I also learned about how to place things in position to the printer.  Objects may look one way but once you project them onto a wall they look completely different.

Sharky

I think this piece was really succesful.  I really enjoyed creating this project.  I think that my color scheme came out well and also I think that I carved the print well.  I think that the printing worked well on this project.  This was one of my first prints so it did not end up looking as good as some others, but I don't think it looks to bad.  If I were to do this project over again I would become more creative with which animal or object I would choose to cut out and I would make many more abstract lines.  The most difficult part of this project was carving out the lines and also drawing the shark initially was difficult.  I learned that I am not a very good drawer from this project and also I need to be creative with my colors.

spray pait

This was my favorite project we have done so far.  In my opinion, the work was hard but it was worth it because of the final product. I really like how I took a long time on my stencils and they ended up looking very good.  I also like the color scheme that I picked.  In this photo I had not yet added the black within my eyes but once I added those it made all my color on my canvas pop.  I learned about spray paint and light sourcing in this photo.  I also like this photo because of the way I placed my hands in the shadow which reflect on my canvas.  I loved this project!

self portrait

I learned about how to shade and how to use my light source effectively.  This is my unfinished product without the facial shading.  I also learned about how to draw lips and eyes.  With lips, your upper lip is always darker than your other and you have shaded creases on the sides.  With my eyes I learned how to place them proportionally on my face and how to create eye lashes.  Also with my eyes I leaned how to create a light spot on the eye to make it look realistic.  This project has not been my favorite because I think it was too boring....

This is my face.....

Sketch

I beleive this piece of art was very successful.  I was able to show a tiger walking with shading.  I think that the best part about this project is the tigers face.  There are many details that went into creating the tigers face because there are so many stripes and different shades.  The worst part about this project is how the colors all kind of run into each other.  I could have done a better job of creating contrast.  If I were to do this project over again I would use my lights and darks better.  The most difficult part of this project was tracing the different sections.  Finding the different grays was difficult.  I learned how to effectively use my lights and darks from this project.

Junk Project

I beleive this piece of art was very successful.  We adapted the objects that were given to us in class into a bridge.  Our inspiration is The Towers Bridge in London, England.  I beleive most things worked in this project but the worst part of it was the sun.  The sun had no structure what so ever.  I would consider making a better background and a better sun if I were to do this project over again.  The most difficult part of this project was morphing the junk and objects to look like something.  Coming up with something to make was also a very difficult aspect of this project.  I learned that you can use almost anything to creat art.  This project showed me to be creative and to use my brain when creating things.

rhino

RHINO ON THE LOOSE IN RALEIGH.  The rhino escaped from the zoo and went on a walk down the streets.

Lobster

This is a picture of a lobster that we drew in class.  I feel like this piece is very succesful and is a true depiction of what the rubber lobster looked like in real life.  There are many little details included.  If I were to do this project i would add a little more detail to the tail, but the person that drew this picture did a very good job otherwise.   I think that one of the most difficult parts about drawing this would be the head and the claws coming out of the front of the lobster.  Those are in a very hard angle to draw and they  have a lot of detail.  The person who drew this picture did a very good job!  They deserve an A!

My newimal is a seal and a pig put together.  I added facial bones and a snout, along with a spine and hip bone.  My newimal didn't have legs, but flippers, so I added bones in those too.  The is made up of many different little bones.
