JAWS AKA PANCAKES

Midterm

I think this piece was my most successful because my stenciling for the most part was very exact.  Also, my color scheme ended up very well.  I really like my contrast between the blue, orange, white, and black.  Although, you can not see the black spraypaint yet.  Also, I had the most fun creating this project.  Cutting things out with sharp tools, spray painting, and creating your own wooden frame were all very fun aspects of this project.

I learned the most from this project because we learned to be creative with all sorts of objects.  Instead of limiting ourselves to just pencil and paper, we were given a projector and junk and we had to create something.  It was a lot harder said than done.  But I learned about contrasting sizes and I also learned about how to place things in position to the printer.  Objects may look one way but once you project them onto a wall they look completely different.

Sharky

I think this piece was really succesful.  I really enjoyed creating this project.  I think that my color scheme came out well and also I think that I carved the print well.  I think that the printing worked well on this project.  This was one of my first prints so it did not end up looking as good as some others, but I don't think it looks to bad.  If I were to do this project over again I would become more creative with which animal or object I would choose to cut out and I would make many more abstract lines.  The most difficult part of this project was carving out the lines and also drawing the shark initially was difficult.  I learned that I am not a very good drawer from this project and also I need to be creative with my colors.

spray pait

This was my favorite project we have done so far.  In my opinion, the work was hard but it was worth it because of the final product. I really like how I took a long time on my stencils and they ended up looking very good.  I also like the color scheme that I picked.  In this photo I had not yet added the black within my eyes but once I added those it made all my color on my canvas pop.  I learned about spray paint and light sourcing in this photo.  I also like this photo because of the way I placed my hands in the shadow which reflect on my canvas.  I loved this project!

I learned about how to shade and how to use my light source effectively.  This is my unfinished product without the facial shading.  I also learned about how to draw lips and eyes.  With lips, your upper lip is always darker than your other and you have shaded creases on the sides.  With my eyes I learned how to place them proportionally on my face and how to create eye lashes.  Also with my eyes I leaned how to create a light spot on the eye to make it look realistic.  This project has not been my favorite because I think it was too boring....
