Art One Final Portfolio

#1 This project was by far my favorite.  For myself, this project was challenging but out of all my projects, this one ended with the best product.  I really enjoyed projecting a picture of myself on the wall and tracing it.  It may have been a little awkward at the time but it is definitly worth it now.  I also enjoyed this project because it was a challenge for myself.  I find it very hard to do things such as color in the lines and be neat but with this project when you were using the exact-knife to cut out the different shades of our face, you had to be very exact or else the final product wouldn't look to good.  I also really like the color scheme I picked because I mean, who doesn't enjoy purple and orange? But lastly, my favorite part about this project was that people told me I looked like Jesus... And that's awesome.

#2 I feel like I learned a lot from this project because basically you had to make something out of nothing... We had to use trash and use different values and move the distances of the objects around.  We attempted to make a bridge out of trash and for the most part it turned out well. We had to use many different perspectives.  If we just threw all of the trash together and projected it's shadow, it wouldn't look like anything.  I really enjoyed this project because we were able to be as creative as possible.  There were no limits on it and that was really cool.  The worst part about this project is how it didn't look very realistic but I mean I still enjoyed it.

#3 Although, this picture did not turn out as well as I hoped, I still really enjoyed it.  With this project, we used everything that we had learned previously.  We had to use perspective, value, and proper color scheme.  I was expecting this project to be very easy but for myself, it ended up being one of the most difficult.  I grew as an artist with this picture because I know understand where I went wrong.  With my clouds, I didn't make them realistic what so ever.  With my road, my perspective is completely off... And I think I did a good job of picking out colors for my grass, but that is about the only good part about it.  The grass doesn't have any perspective in it what so ever either. I enjoyed this project even though I found it to be extremely difficult.
#4 I think we learned the least in this project.  We mostly just spent the day walking around school trying to figure out different perspectives but it was a lot more difficult than it looked.  I feel like if we had more direction maybe and were at least a little more creative, this project could have turned out a lot better than it did.  We didn't use many of the aspects we had already learned in art in these pictures.  I also think if we had more time to perfect our different poses then they would look a lot better.  We were not very creative at all and I don't like that.  In this picture, we just copied what was done in previous picutres. I think if we knew a little morea about photography and camera angles, these picutres would have turned out a lot better than they are.
#5  This piece of art reflects me the most because, it is a portrait of myself...  Although this picture doesn't look too much like myself, I think I did a rather good job with the facial features.  My eyes are my favorite part.  On myself, I have very long and thick eye lashes and I made sure to make those a point of emphasis on my drawing.  Also, drawing my hair was a lot of fun.  I really enjoyed learning how to draw hair properly with a part and with high lights.  I could have worked a little harer on my lips but my lips are awkward in real life so I figured I had to make them awkward in my picture too.  I liked this photo because I tried my hardest not to be afraid of the dark.  MR. SANDS YOU ARE AWESOME.
